Society for Community Development was established with the aim to facilitate, collaborate and cooperate with the organizations working in developmental sector to strengthen the partnership, to combating all forms of abuse and exploitations of children, ensure the rights of Women & Children and other vulnerable groups, promotion of education and health facilities, promote the right based approaches, and provide care and treatment services to people living with HIV & AIDS and for the empowerment of the vulnerable/marginalized/poor.

SCD has committed to its objectives and responsibilities and has been actively engaged in developmental initiatives in different districts of Balochistan, KPK, Sind and Punjab since 1999. SCD has made efforts to respond to the socially excluded, marginalized population of the province through implementation of long and short term projects. This has only made possible through having strong mobilization and expanded outreach in different districts. As a result, SCD the target groups have benefited from the available resources and services. The organization also pays special attention to children of religious and ethnic minorities.

It is important to note that being a right based organization; Society for Community Development does not believe in substituting governmental organizations by providing long term institutional care to its target population. Rather, its approach is to work hand-in-hand with governmental organizations, making the later realized for its duties. Whereas Society for community development is involved in service delivery, it is either in the form of action-research in order to understand the problem in-depth or to build a model intervention for concerned governmental organization.
